I was weaving through the electric energy of Times Square, where the lights seemed to dance to the pulse of New York City itself. Each turn led me to a new world: the bustling streets of Chinatown, alive with the aroma of sizzling woks and vibrant red lanterns; the elegant calm of the Upper East Side, where art and affluence whispered through the air.

In Bushwick, Brooklyn, walls became canvases, vibrant murals telling stories of rebellion and creativity. And then, at Coney Island, nostalgia took hold. The vintage charm of the boardwalk, the laughter from the old amusement park, and the salty ocean breeze made it feel like stepping onto a movie set.

New York revealed itself in layers, each neighborhood a distinct character. Through my lens, I captured a city alive with contrasts: gritty and polished, modern and timeless, chaotic yet full of soul. — Anouk Sassen
